COVID 19 Antibody - Overview
Antibodies, or proteins that your immune system makes to help fight infection and prevent you from getting sick in the future, are produced after you’ve been infected with COVID 19 or have received one of the COVID 19 vaccines. Antibodies for COVID 19 can be detected in the blood of those who have recovered from the virus, and will help protect from future infections, either getting reinfected at all or by having a less severe case of COVID 19 after having antibody protections.
COVID 19 Antibody - Testing
You can be tested for COVID 19 antibodies after being exposed to COVID 19 or receiving a COVID 19 vaccine. The test cannot tell you if you have an active COVID 19 infection. COVID 19 antibodies are found through a blood test.
COVID 19 Antibody - Testing results
Test results will show whether or not your body has developed antibodies to COVID 19 after exposure or vaccination. Both false positives and false negatives can occur.
COVID 19 Antibody Testing Online
You can schedule to have a test done for COVID 19 antibodies through some telehealth sites, but a test cannot be done online and must be done in person.
How long will it take to get my results?
Most authorized tests now return results within 15 to 30 minutes.
